Our environment


Reus is a city of more than 100,000 inhabitants, located near to the sea and the Costa Dorada Mountains. Mild winters, hot summers and erratic rainfall characterize its climate.

Regarding tourism, Reus is known as a commercial city as well as a cultural one thanks to its Art Nouveau heritage. The town boasts of famous personalities such as the architect Antoni Gaudi, the painter Marià Fortuny or the sculptor Joan Rebull, among others. 

Concerning the scientific expertise, the illustrious expert in fuzzy logic Jaume Gil Aluja, was named the son of the city in 2016.

Therefore, Reus is a city with a lot of charm, designed to be enjoyed, either by strolling through the most important places of Gaudi’s childhood and youth, through the organized guide tour called " The Gaudí’s Route ", or by visiting the most important modernist style buildings in Europe, which can be discovered with the " Modernism Route” in which visitors can observe great architectural and artistic works, among which the great architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner creations stand out.

Reus offers excellent connections with not only major destinations in the Spanish state but with major European capitals as well. High-train speed networks –AVE- connects the city with Barcelona in just over 30 minutes and with Madrid in less than 3 hours. In addition, the city of Tarragona, declared "World Heritage" by UNESCO, is just 12km away and France is almost 250km. Reus has its own airport that makes shipments to Europe and in addition, the ´El Prat airport in Barcelona is really close (less than 100km) from which it is possible to travel anywhere in the world.

Visitors can also enjoy a day of sun and beach in the city of Salou, in the fishing village of Cambrils and of course in several outstanding small coves along the Costa Daurada (eg. La Pineda, Miami Playa, Hospitalet del Infant). Practicing other modalities of tourism close to the region is also possible: in Priorat the visitors will find a wide range of enotourism activities and regarding ecotourism the most fascinating places are The Mountains of Prades, the Mola de Colldejou and La Mussara. Finally, Terres de l'Ebre is an outstanding protected natural area recognized as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO where you can find one of the most beautiful natural environments in the world.
